- Sam Amrani
Sam Amrani is the Executive Chairman and co-founder of TAMOCO, responsible for creating the vision and strategy for the most advanced NFC platform.
Prior to starting TAMOCO, Sam worked for six years at EE, the UK’s leading communications company where he worked within various roles, including the business development function, which was responsible for bringing the first contactless mobile payments service and contactless mobile ticketing service to the UK. Alongside this, Sam was also leading the development for non-payment related mobile NFC products and mobile data. Throughout his career at EE, Sam has continuously pursued a number of entrepreneurial ventures, including The Executive Magazine – the UK’s leading free luxury men’s magazine, Executive Numbers – the UK’s first customized mobile phone numbers company and KACE London, which became a well-established phone accessories company, featuring on the likes of Groupon and Wowcher.
A 24-year-old British national, Sam holds a BA in History and received his LLB from the University of London in 2012. He is also a member of the IoD and the IoE.
- Chris Arnold
Chris Arnold is creative director and founder of the new generation creative agency Creative Orchestra and Proximity Mobile Marketing agency Comobi2.
He was a member of the board of directors and integrated creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi before setting up FEEL – the UK’s first ethical marketing & advertising agency. He was also a co-founder of BLAC. He has also been creative director of Draft Direct Worldwide. He has worked in 15 agencies, over 25 years.
Chris is a great champion of using psychology in marketing to better understand what motivates consumers and is one of the UK’s leading experts in ethical marketing. He has written the mini-insights book Why Women Shop on Venus & Men Shop on Mars and co-written The Truth About Students, and is currently writing two new books: Maverick Brands and THUNK (a different way to think). He lectures around the world on creativity, marketing, innovation & futurology, ethical marketing, and NFC & Proximity Mobile Marketing.
A former board member of the DMA (Europe’s largest marketing trade body) he’s been the Chairman of both the Agency Council and the Creative Council. He is currently a member of the DMA, Marketing Society, D&AD and the IOD.
- Scott Austin
Scott Austin has extensive Smart Card and RFID Experience supported by a successful RFID, Identity Management Solution and SAS (Software as A Service) background. As a pioneer of RFID and Web Based Identity Management in Australia and a patent holder in the field, Scott has a strong track record of ID solutions deployed within Australia including for BHP Biliton Mitsuibishi Alliance, NSW Police, DOTARS, World Youth Day 2008, QANTAS, Centrelink, Freedom Fuel, Nueman Petroleum and The Prime Ministers Department. Scott moved to Singapore in January 2011 as a Director of Identive’s new smart inlay and label facility and lead the International Sales and Marketing integration of Identive’s Transponder Division. Now combined with the former SCM Micro reader division, Identive’s ID Products Division is leading the way with NFC Product delivery across the globe including names such as Google, ISIS, Nokia, Orange and many others as a key provider of NFC readers, tags and labels and services.
- Kevin Bailey
Mr. Bailey is a senior technology management professional with over fifteen years of business and product development experience. Mr. Bailey joined AT&T Business Solutions in April 2010 as part of AT&T’s investment to expand their Mobile Marketing and Mobile Commerce application product offerings. Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Bailey held a general manager position for Laird Technologies thermoelectric business unit where he was the primary guiding force for meeting the businesses global growth and for developing the units overall strategic plan. Before Laird Technologies Mr. Bailey worked at Motorola where he was a founding member of Motorola’s Early Stage Technology Innovation Program where he built several high growth businesses and executed numerous global venture capital transactions for the corporation. In 2007 Mr. Bailey received company recognition when we was named CTO Leader of the Year for his work in mobile commerce. In earlier roles at Motorola Mr. Bailey was instrumental in transitioning Motorola’s public safety product portfolio from voice centric analog solutions to industry leading digital voice and data integrated products.
- Daniel Bailin
Daniel Bailin joined HID Global in 2006. He is part of the Strategic Innovation group focusing on next generation solutions and has been working on NFC applications since 2007. Prior to joining HID, Daniel spent seven years in the Biometrics industry, including Authentec and Bioscrypt, in a variety of sales and business development roles. Daniel’s career began in the semiconductor industry where he held positions involving applications engineering and technical marketing. He has degrees in Chemistry and Electrical Engineering.
- Nav Bains
Nav Bains of Sequent, has been an independent consultant in the mobile communications. He founded Bains Solutions which provides impartial strategy, management and technical consultancy services to the mobile industry. Nav has over 24 years experience in telecommunications and 7 in the mobile payments industry. Previously, Nav worked as mWallet project manager at Vodafone Group, as Vice President Business Development Telecommunications and Channel Management at ViVOtech Inc. Before that he was the Business Lead Mobile for NFC Services at GSMA. Nav spearheaded the GSMA’s mobile NFC initiatives for 6 years. He led the GSMA Pay-Buy-Mobile (PBM) initiative, in which over 60 Mobile Network Operators around the world worked together to develop a common platform and processes for launching SIM-based mobile payments. Nav has successfully worked a number of global telecommunications programs while working at ICO Global Communications, ESYS consulting and Logica-CMG. His doctorate is in Experimental High Energy Particle Physics.
- Kirk Ballou
Kirk Ballou serves as CEO/Chief Architect at Touch Titans. He leads a team of award winning designers and developers who support every major mobile platform. The worlds largest handset makers, carriers, CNN, Nat Geo, MTV and Red Bull turn to his team for Mobile UX and Design.
- Vincent Berge
Vincent Berge is the founder and CEO of Think&Go NFC, which allows organizations to deploy projects which use NFC technology in order to create more compelling experiences for consumers and more efficient processes for employees. Think&Go NFC supports a range of alternative NFC devices on a range of over 300 existing mobile phones and also a growing range NFC phones. Vincent brings 25 years of IT experience in various high profile companies, including IBM and Autodesk. He also worked at startups Scientific Software in Australia and Mobile Distillery in France.
- Paula Berger
Paula Berger has been working in NFC since 2005 in a variety of roles. She is currently involved in expanding the NFC Bootcamp, the only globally standardized NFC training program. She was VP Marketing and Communication at Sequent, an NFC Trusted Service Manager (TSM). She was Executive Director of the NFC Forum for six years, from the association’s launch through the rollout of the certification program. Paula has been a writer for NFC World publications and she is on the Planning Committee for the NFC Circle Boston, a program of the MIT Enterprise Forum that supports the development, adoption and commercial success of NFC. Paula has extensive experience in communication of all sorts and in building and running training programs.
- Fernando Cejas
A mobile applications engineer, Fernando has been working with mobile platforms for the past five years. He is a huge fan of Android since the beginning, and is currently working at Flomio, an NFC and RFID company based in Miami (Florida) as a Mobile Evangelist. He is also organizing the Google Developers Group (GDG) in Barcelona. Some of his personal projects are the android10 community and the Android App: NFC Quick Actions
- Hank Chavers
Hank Chavers is Associate Principal at Constratus, a consultancy providing technical expertise and business analysis for NFC, telecommunications, and multi-media innovations. Hank has over 15 years of experience in development, deployment, and adoption of Internet services and wireless data. His NFC specific accomplishments include: producing proof-of-concept demonstrations for NFC enabling wireless technologies; providing technical management for NFC trials including the first ever NFC phone with two types of payment cards; and leading the NFC Forum Developer Workgroup and Global Competition. Hank has advised and consulted many companies like CNN, ESPN, and Sabre in expanding their product offerings to mobile clients.
- Fang Cheng
Ms. Cheng, founder of Proximiant, Inc., serves as CEO of this trending start-up focusing on a disruptive mobile receipt and marketing product. The company is currently working with major retailers like Skechers, on a sizable rollout this holiday season. Previously, Ms. Cheng co-founded Touchco, Inc., and served as COO. At Touchco, Ms. Cheng led the business development and operation, brought to the company multiple funding opportunities and led the company to successful acquisition by Amazon.
Ms. Cheng has a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from New York University, and during her professional career served as a hedge fund manager with leading funds, and mostly recently served as Vice President at Millennium Partners.
- Pawel Chrobok
Pawel Chrobok is Director of Business Development at EnStream LP. He started his GSM career at T-Mobile where he worked for nine years in various capacities, fulfilling various roles, from operations and engineering to product development. While in product development he was responsible for defining and managing T-Mobile’s SIM card requirements and applications.
In 2008, Pawel was hired by Giesecke & Devrient in Munich, Germany as their NFC SIM Marketing Manager and shortly thereafter was promoted to Senior NFC Program Manager. From 2008 through 2010 Pawel served as the Chairman of the SIMalliance NFC Working Group. He participated in the setup and running of several NFC trials, worldwide (Payment, Transportation and Access Control).
In July 2012 Pawel joined EnStream in his present position as Director of Business Development.
- David Cropley
Dave Cropley has a passion for building digital relationships for businesses, organisations and brands. He has over 12 years marketing and software engineering experience with a unique skill in bridging the gap between technology and marketers. Dave’s multi category consulting and development experience includes; Finance, Travel, Charity, Government, eCommerce and Out Of Home. Dave is the founder and Minister of Production for Red Propaganda delivering commercially focused outcomes across all digital channels including Web, NFC and Mobile.
- Trevor Crotch-Harvey
Trevor Crotch-Harvey has been a founding Director of touché-NFC Ltd since 2012, and proprietor of the independent consultancy Fenbrook Consulting, since 2006. Prior to forming Fenbrook, he was on the board of Innovision Research & Technology plc, a pioneer in the development of NFC chip technology. He has worked in contactless technology since he supplied the first contactless cards to London Transport in 1994 for its Harrow Bus pilot, the forerunner of Oyster. At Innovision, Trevor worked closely with NFC industry partners and has presented at conferences all over the world on the applications of NFC since 2004. He has written two books for IDTechEx on NFC, in 2007 and 2009. He has also completed seven projects for MasterCard on various aspects of the use of wristbands for contactless payments in music festivals, and he chairs Working Group 22 of the UK Transport Card Forum – “Contactless Payments in Public Transport.”
Although Trevor is an expert on contactless payments and smart ticketing, he formed touché with Glenn Needham in 2012 to address the application of NFC in the marketing domain. Trevor and Glenn believe that NFC, along with other complementary technologies, has the potential to revolutionise advertising and the relationship between brands and their customers.
- Mikhail Damiani
Mikhail Damiani is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Blue Bite. Mikhail directs all aspects of Blue Bite’s business and operations and has spearheaded the Company’s NFC efforts with its mTAG® Platform. He is also responsible for the Company’s strategic partnerships, sales, and client management. Prior to Blue Bite, he was an investment banking analyst at GCA Savvian, where he worked on multiple transactions totaling over $1Bn. Mikhail received his B.S. degree in Finance and Management from The Stern School of Business at New York University.
- Nicolas de Guillebon
Nicolas de Guillebon joined the French National Center of RFID (CNRFID) early 2013 to foster the Industrial NFC activity beyond payment and mass transport, he is also responsible for the RFID / NFC Supplier College. Prior to the CNRFID, Nicolas worked 15 years for STMicroelectronics, and 2 years as Consultant and Product Marketing Director. During his career, Nicolas held several positions in Engineering, Product Marketing and Business Development, both in South of France and San Jose (California). He has successfully worked in various innovative technologies such as Smartcard, low power Microcontrollers, Touch Sensing, Energy saving and now RFID / NFC. Nicolas holds a Master Degree in Microelectronics & Signal Processing.
- Alain DeSouza
Alain DeSouza is Vice President of Market Development for Sequent, where he is driving Sequent’s strategy and operations in Canada. Alain previously worked at Research in Motion, where he served as Senior Market Development Manager, leading the mobile financial commercialization strategy globally. He has developed a wide range of NFC programs, including payments, access control, loyalty, and location-based services. Alain has 16 years of experience in market development and marketing with a variety of enterprise and consumer technology companies including Symantec, Amdocs, and the British Trade and Investment Office.
- Stéphane Doutriaux
Stéphane founded his latest venture in 2007, pulling together a team that combines experts in Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, and leading Swiss design & electronics knowledge. Poken has established itself as a thought leader in the NFC space, building the most widely used Content Management System (CMS) for NFC catering to the largest advertising and event agencies, mobile operators, and to customers in over 25 countries. Poken’s motto is “Collecting people and things, with a touch” —and its business revolves around building brand experience with NFC, and helping customers drive ROI from touch-based services.
- Jim Ellis
Jim Ellis is the SVP, North America for ABnote North America. ABnote is the leading North American supplier of secure printed products, documents, and related services, including RFID enabled products and NFC Wallet. Jim’s career has spanned various roles in technology solutions for financial services, including HID Global, FreedomPay, Wincor Nixdorf, Axiohm Transaction Solutions, and AMT Datasouth as well as Wang MicroSystems.
- Theresa Gordon
Theresa is an evangelist in the NFC space. She has worked across various industry verticals and is currently focused on working with emerging and mobile technology and first movers in the NFC industry, especially in regard to cross ecosystem distribution and deployment. She is committed to defining approaches and developing business intelligence and collaborative partnerships to explore, support and move forward NFC initiatives and implementations as they evolve. Theresa is an advocate in the NFC space, involved with TAP GO, connectivity and active intelligence.
- Richard Grundy
Richard Grundy, CEO of Flomio, Inc. has over 13 years of R&D experience in the wireless industry. Richard earned a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA, holds two device patents, and has spent a career at Motorola developing mission critical solutions for enterprise customers. Having implemented NFC and RFID projects in excess of $100 million for the Department of Defense, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the first responders market, Richard understands the challenges of building end-to-end infrastructure products that scale. Flomio embodies this expertise, offering NFC and RFID infrastructure as a service. Serving a broad customer base from advertising to access control, the Flomio team has raised early stage capital, released several hardware and software products, and recently graduated from the prestigious TechStars Cloud program.
- David Holmes
Dave Holmes is one of the pioneers in the NFC industry. At Identive, Mr. Holmes is currently driving NFC initiatives across the ID infrastructure product offering, as well as building new businesses with mobile solutions and applications that leverage the breadth and depth of Identive’s IP and expertise in NFC and other contactless technologies.
- Alex Howard
Alex Howard has been working in the smart card industry for close to 10 years. His experience is in development, consulting and support of projects including stored value, PKI, PC access, building access, hardware integration, time and attendance, among a host of other applications. He is well versed in the US Federal Government CAC and PIV programs and has developed several custom applications which utilize these platforms. His contactless smart card experience has centered around NXP Mifare and DESFire and HID’s iClass, and is now growing with the expanding NFC technologies. Tx Systems, as a distributor for several of the world’s prominent contactless reader manufacturers, has provided Mr. Howard a position at the forefront of the growing smart card industry.
- Matthew Kammerait
Matt Kammerait is taking on the world of mobile and interactivity from an unlikely home – within one of the great American printing companies: Quad/Graphics. As product manager for Quad/Graphics interactive print solutions, he is in the vanguard of printing professionals engaged in the process of integrating the immediacy and connectivity of mobile with the proven power and success of the printed page. His focus is helping marketers and publishers combine print and mobile using QR codes, image recognition, augmented reality, Near-Field Communications (NFC) and other emerging technologies. Matt has been active in Quad/Graphics Innovation Council and Idea Catapult programs, helping Quad/Graphics maintain its corporate commitment to innovation and technology. He also spearheaded Social Media development and integration across the $4.7 billion, 24,000 employee company.
- Bastien Latge
Bastien Latge has spent the last 5 years (and still continues) working at Inside Secure. He is currently Vice President for Mobile Products, Secure Element, Applets and Mobile ecosystem in Mobile Security Division. Bastien previously held a Product manager position for Dual Interface products (Contact & Contactless Products) in US and Europe. Bastien has also been elected as Technical Associate representing the industry at EMVCo’s Board of Advisors for 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014. - Adam Lotia
Adam Lotia joined the AT&T Foundry® in June 2011. He comes from a rich start-up background including starting two agencies: Fzzz Media and Freelance Jax. Adam is also a founding partner of Exposition Picture Co., which has been noted on IMdB for their work on the silver screen. As an Innovation Coach at the AT&T Foundry® in Plano, Adam is responsible for leading new projects, assisting third-party developers, understanding AT&T’s open API platform, and accelerating the pace of innovation through creativity and collaboration.
- Gloria Lozano
Gloria Lozano is CEO of BCNTouch, Telecom Engineer for Polytechnical University of Catalonia UPC, and MBA for Esade Business School and PDD (Management Development Program) for IESE. She has developed most of her path at top class multinational technology companies such as Philips Semiconductors (currently NXP Semiconductors) and Meggitt Electronics in B2B Marketing, Sales and Operations with focus on account management, process management and customer intimacy.
From 2008 she started to work around the NFC ecosystem. In 2009, she co-founded BCNTouch and took care of the customer development functions. BCNTouch became one of the first european startups building marketing services around NFC technology. In 2011, BCNTouch launched a mobile web platform of “touch-marketing” that allows brands to interact with consumers through physical objects.
- Takek Luka
Tarek Luka, an electronics and communication engineer by education, has been working in the IT field in various functions for the past 23 years. For the past 17 years he has worked exclusively in the payments field. Tarek currently heads the Payments business unit for Oberthur Technologies in Canada. Previously, he helped shape and bring to market Salt Technology’s mobile NFC wallet. Other previous work includes work with IBM, E-funds Canada and Oasis Technology Ltd., where he ran their client services division for the EMEA region. He is a working manager with the ability to quickly define the value proposition and strategic/tactical objectives, and drive a team to focus on execution. Tarek brings extensive knowledge in Payments, Mobile/NFC, Credit/Debit Cards, Retail Banking issues and current trends in the industry. He managed the Chip & Pin acceptance for tier 1 merchants at Global Payments and was first to introduce a Canadian merchant with all three card brands (Visa, MasterCard and Interac) to the Kitchener Waterloo trial. - Sache Moghe
Sachin Moghe is responsible for Business Development and Project Management for the Americas region of DeviceFidelity. Moghe has over 20 years of IT banking experience with numerous roles in software development, infrastructure management, document imaging, and project management. Prior to joining DeviceFidelity, Moghe was a management consultant at Bank of America, responsible for a multi-million dollar risk scoring upgrade project. Previously, Moghe was the head of software development and client delivery at Experian, where he was responsible for all software engineering efforts for a suite of 15 rules-based credit decisioning products. Prior to Experian, Moghe was the head of software development for over 150 credit card applications (underwriting through loss recovery) at Providian Financial. Previously, Moghe was responsible for document imaging and infrastructure, as well as project management at MBNA. Moghe began his career at JP Morgan, where he was responsible for the software engineering of a government securities fixed income trading platform and ACH systems. Moghe is PMP certified and holds a BS in Information Systems and an MBA in Finance, both from NYU’s Stern School of Business. Moghe is also a member of 2007 Men’s 3.0 and 2010 Men’s 3.5 teams from Texas that won the USTA National Tennis Championships.
- Jesse Money
Jesse is a consultant and thought leader in the NFC industry. He previously served as Principal at Constratus, a management and NFC consulting firm. Jesse has 20 years of wireless and software development experience, and has worked with wireless operators and payment networks to define business strategy, product roadmaps, NFC device certification procedures, and the Isis operational support model. He has spent the last several years working in NFC strategy, implementation, market analysis, and mobile payments. Prior to Constratus, Jesse spent 5 years at Verizon Wireless, where he led the Verizon Wireless consumer product management organization, and has worked for Visa, Samsung, Sprint and BellSouth in management and implementation roles. Jesse holds a Masters degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University, and a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University.
- Glenn Needham
Glenn Needham is a highly professional, commercially aware, electronics and software engineer with an in-depth knowledge of Contact & Contactless smartcard technology, RFID and Near Field Communications. Having worked in the smartcard and NFC industries for in excess of 15 years Glenn brings a wealth of detailed technical knowledge and experience to any business or project.
Glenn is an active contributor to global standardisation relating to Contactless and NFC topics working with The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), he is also a member of the UK panel of The International Standards Organisation (ISO) and was formally the chair of the NFC Forum Security Working Group as well as being actively involved in other technical groups within the NFC Forum.
Prior to founding Near Field Solutions, Glenn worked with one of the world’s premier NFC technology companies, Innovision Research and Technology PLC, where he played a major part in the architectural design and development of NFC IP and solutions for the company and its blue-chip clients.
Before this Glenn was Managing Director of a specialist consultancy and development company dedicated to smartcard technology, Belvoir Carte Systeme Ltd, which was subsequently sold. During this time Glenn was instrumental in the design and development of some high profile smartcard applications and systems.
- Mikko Nikkanen
Mikko Nikkanen is the Business Development Director for Business Line Mobile and Smart Media, Business Unit Electronic Product Identification at SMARTRAC. Mikko has several years of global experience in developing NFC/RFID tag-based concepts, and applications. He has played an integral part in establishing the world famous NFC partnership network around www.nfctags.com. Prior to working for SMARTRAC (formerly UPM RFID), Mikko held management positions in digital marketing, laser component and datacom/telecom network industries. Mikko holds a degree in marketing management.
- Trevor Pavey
A senior product line manager at Broadcom, Trevor Pavey is a seasoned high tech marketing executive with eight years of RFID and wireless expertise coupled with 17 years of experience in semiconductor technology, marketing, business development, applications and design. During his tenure at Broadcom, Mr. Pavey has been responsible for ecosystem management, including Broadcom’s relationships with the major payment associations and mobile carriers. Earlier in his career, he was instrumental in launching the NFC business at Texas Instruments.
- Robert P. Sabella
Robert P. Sabella has 20+ years of legal and entrepreneurial experience and is considered one of the most innovative leaders in developing and bringing new technologies to market. He is the founder of the NFC Bootcamp™ training series and has recently co-founded the AccelerateNFC incubator program, dedicated to fostering start-ups in bringing NFC technology to the market. He is co-author of RFID+™ and a prolific writer and speaker on NFC and RFID.
- Tony Sabetti
Tony has over 20 years in marketing, sales and product development of Near Field Communication (NFC) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) hardware, software and services. Since February 2011, Tony has been an independent consultant working to connect NFC technology with location based marketing programs. From 2009 to February 2011, he was a Senior Director of Sales and Marketing covering North and South America for NXP Semiconductors.
- David Shalaby
David is the Founder and President of TapTrack, an NFC marketing firm. In addition to leading all R&D efforts, David also contributes to the sales, marketing and strategic operations of TapTrack. Prior to founding TapTrack, David worked in the aerospace and robotics industry for five years. as well as doing business development for Princess Margaret Hospital in 2010. David holds an MBA from The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a BASc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

Rich Stein has spent the past 10+ years helping brands create relevant and impactful marketing solutions. His passion is innovating new ways to connect brands to their audiences. Originally, Rich was involved with technology companies like AT&T, Pacific Bell and System Integration companies driving business development efforts. - Craig Tadlock
Craig Tadlock is founder and CEO of GoToTags which develops applications, software development kits and online services which allow companies to easily develop rich cross-platform applications which connect the physical and online worlds through wireless sensors. Founded in early 2011 by an experienced team of technology entrepreneurs, GoToTags is based in Seattle, WA with team members across the west coast. Its focus is on building innovative technology products and services to support the emerging trend of increased mobile computing situational awareness and physical and online device interactions. GoToTags also runs the largest NFC ecommerce website, BUYNFCTAGS.COM.

- Bart van Hoek
Bart van Hoek, born and raised in the Netherlands, works as a consultant for Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Transaction Security. UL TS excels in secure transaction technology for the mobile, identity, transit and payment industry. In the mobile space, Bart has worked on many NFC projects in Europe, and is currently contracted to ISIS in Dallas — one of the biggest NFC initiatives in the world. In his current role as TSM architect, Bart is responsible for the product development of the TSM. His previous roles include functional analyst and system integrator. Bart brings a depth of knowledge about TSMs, Secure Elements, GlobalPlatform, Mobile payments and near field communication.
- Tony Vassiliev
Tony’s career started and evolved in the Vancouver advertising scene. Young & Rubicam, MacLaren McCann, Sun Media, and Glacier Group are some of the cornerstones of his professional experience. He has managed advertising campaigns and new business initiatives for numerous Fortune 500 companies. Because of his love for technology and appreciation for community he dedicated himself full heartedly to helping brands build authentic relationships with their customers. This led to the launch of Gauge Mobile in 2010.
- Tom Zalewski
A 20+ year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Tom Zalewski is Vice President, Sales at CorFire. Tom brings over a decade of experience in the mobile payments arena and has been integrally involved in many of the first NFC and pre-NFC (RFID) mobile payments trials & pilots. During 2006 Tom helped create a Trusted Service Manager joint venture between Nokia and Giesecke & Devrient, then was appointed President and General Manager of Venyon Inc. in early 2007. Prior to establishing Venyon Inc., Tom was with Nokia since 1999 in various business development roles. His most recent position there was Director of NFC/RFID Consumer Solutions for Nokia Ventures. Tom was responsible for creating new business opportunities based on market trends and emerging mobile device technologies. During his time with Nokia, Tom worked closely with technology leads to develop and sell bundled services and solutions to service providers in the telecom industry. Technologies included Short Messaging Service, Multimedia Services, Location Based Services, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solutions, Mobile Gaming, Mobile Marketing and Mobile Internet. Before joining Nokia, Tom worked in the wireless industry in various management, technical and operational roles with Samsung, Siemens, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments. Tom is a graduate of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
